THEY gave it their all, but Ipswich ‘Sackers’ Witches just came up short as Somerset Rebels won the League Cup at Foxhall Stadium. In the end the Suffolk side had left themselves too much to do after a 14-point loss at Somerset last week. But they could not be faulted for their efforts last night, getting to within two points of the Rebels at one stage. This was good speedway and sets the Witches up for another crack at a cup, the KO Cup, against Newcastle at the weekend. Somerset secured victory in heat 14, but Ipswich pushed them all the way.
